SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR Pushed Back Nearly a Year to August 22, 2014

     June 17, 2013

Well it appears that director Robert Rodriguez won’t have two films opening within weeks from each other after all.  The Weinstein Company announced today that Rodriguez’s long-awaited sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has been pushed back nearly a year, from this coming October to August 22, 2014, making Machete Kills Rodriguez’s sole release this year.  That’s some pretty disappointing news for fans who have already been waiting eight years for the promised Sin City follow-up, so hopefully the finished product will be worth it.  The film’s impressive ensemble cast is lead by Josh Brolin as the physically-altered Dwight (played by Clive Owen in the first film), who is “hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord (Eva Green), and then watches his life go straight to hell.”

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is currently the only film slated for release on that August date.  The pic also stars Mickey RourkeJessica AlbaBruce WillisRosario DawsonJaime KingJoseph Gordon-LevittDennis Haysbert, Christopher MeloniJeremy PivenRay LiottaJuno Temple, Stacy Keach, and Julia Garner.

I hear that the studio’s rationale is they want even more time to pass, so that way people give even less of a shit when the movie finally is released

    • Murdoch

Ahhh . . . i believe that is known as the “sequel to 300″ method.

      • Namebefakeshiiiiii

haha yeah they coulda been a little quicker on that one. I dont think people are going to still care about 300 but i didnt think it would do as good as it did. The commercials were good, the actual movie had way to much of the chick/politics and not enough killing of persians…. strangely enough cause the movie was almost all fighting but the political parts were so brutal and slow compared to the action its just uninteresting. Good one Doug/Murdoch

    DO NOT WANT!!!!!

Pretty sure Dwight’s face in Sin City is the altered one. His face in this movie should be his original face.

This movie will come out about 7 years too late. The popularity has evaporated. Yea, the hardcore fans will go but the 17-25 year old audience will not give a crap about a movie that is based off a film that came out when they were 12.

I dont even give a flying turd anymore. This film is 6 years too late to begin with anyway. Robert might as well release it dtv whenever he feels like it. For his other upcoming film machete kills, judging by the trailer it hardly warrants a theatralic release either. Rodriguez dropped the ball quite hard. Now right into SpyKids 6 he wents. Adios Muchacho.

This movie biz is shitty! I remember going to see this loving every moment!
They will need some major promotion for this to keep people’s
Interest or maybe they have a plan already IDK. But with a good cast they could pull it off but not all movies can do that.

I dont get that movie being popular, and being made based on it being a in that horrible double film movie. That movie was garbage, the car one was so bad and slow its insane. The zombie one was funny but not good enough to make up for how bad the car one is. And i think Kurt Russel is bad ass, the thing is one of the best movies ever.

I guess there’s a lot of machete fans out there.. How that movie gets an immediate sequel and this thing runs on 7-8 years without is astonishing. I think this movie could’ve waited 5 decades and people would have still seen it, and been excited if frank miller didn’t make the spirit. Man did that movie suck. Regular movie goers will be thinking of that stylistically when the trailers hit tv.

Are some of the stories gonna be prequels or something? How are Bruce Willis and Mickey Rourke returning if their characters died in the first film?

    • zombies

I think they return as zombies

      • Namebefakeshiiiiii

time travel or some zombie bullshit. Or the ultimate bitch move: Flashbacks.

They must of screened it and found out it was pretty terrible and ordered more work in post or some reshoots. Hopefully it’s good.

Why does nobody like this. I am a fan of the source material: it’s violent, sexy, noir, filled with femme fatales and shoot em-ups. Mostly, I LOVE the cast: Josh Brolin (I would have preferred Clive Owen, to be honest) Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Ray Liotta.

I think this will be positively reviewed and recieved. I will be waiting.

    • Namebefakeshiiiiii

The cast is the best part by far. Prety much all those people are good, and Alba is hot (may suck at acting but who cares). I agree i’d rather see clive owen too, He must of not wanted to do it i guess.
