Though it’s tough to take director Robert Rodriguez at his word given how many times we’ve been promised that Sin City 2 is “right around the corner” over the past few years, he’s finally making good on two follow-ups this summer: Machete Kills and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.  With production looming closer on both films, the first promo posters have now gone online.  Rodriguez will first shoot the Machete sequel Machete Kills this month, which finds Danny Trejo returning as the murderous Mexican.  Other returning actors include Michelle Rodriguez and Jessica Alba, who will be joined by newcomers Mel Gibson, Demian Bichir, Amber Heard, and recent addition Sofia Vergara.  Then, Rodriguez will finally shoot the Sin City follow-up, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.  Hit the jump for more.

  1. Great! Its about time for both. Now, Robert, get working on a Predators sequel and leave your Spy Kids behind. I know im in the minority when I say this, but id love to see Frank Miller put out a sequel to The Spirit. Its an under rated movie imo.

  2. It’s about damn time. Altough I wanted Sin City first, especially because it came out seven years ago. But still,I’m just happy it will be made. And Machete is awesome as well.

  3. I wonder why Jessica Alba’s name isn’t on the Machete poster, I wonder if it means her character will be short lived.

  4. I’m going to hold my breath on this. I very very much would like to see these movies and Robert Rodriguez is awesome but am I the only one who remembers the Red Sonja Poster with Rose Mcgowan on it he put out not too long ago with nothing to follow?

  5. It about time, looking forward for some great movies from Robert’s trouble maker studios….. more power to you.
