Here’s the official synopsis for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For:

Co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller reunite to bring Miller’s visually stunning “Sin City” graphic novels back to the screen in SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR. Weaving together two of Miller’s classic stories with new tales, the town’s most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more reviled inhabitants. SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR is the follow up to Rodriguez and Miller’s 2005 groundbreaking film, FRANK MILLER’S SIN CITY.

Ok, this looks beautiful and stylized, but Robert Rodriguez has gone the way of the Lucas. Those motorbikes aren’t real, those skies aren’t real, those backgrounds aren’t real…Too. Much. CGI.

This looked good in the first. Now it looks lazy.

Pretty much everything in the original Sin City was CGI though and it worked pretty great there.

I have zero interest in this. I loved the comic, liked the first movie, but it seems that the gap between the original and this sequel was too long. I don’t think it can be “fresh” .

And Miller needs to lose the hat…

He was wearing the hat since before it became hipster-chic. He can keep it.

it doesn´t have to be fresh at all exactly because i liked the first one.mickey rourke is back and he absolutely nailed the character in the first one, and eva green is fresh enough in my book, bring it on!

It still all comes down to the performers. Mickey Rourke was reborn in the character of Marv. Rosario Dawson FTW. And Joe GGordon Levitt and brolin are the perfect additions. With that cast & Miller’s storyboards,, its set to equal the first easily, easily.

Don’t forget about Eva Green, who’s the PERFECT choice to play Ava Lord.

Reserving judgement until I see this. I hope Jamie Chung kicks ass as Miho. She was awful in Sucker Punch.

    Marv is badass.

‘That there is one damn fine coat you’re wearing Frank Miller, and you’re bleedin all over it.”

So is Brolin only in the scenes that pre-date the first Sin City? In the first film, during the chapter with Dwight, Shelly, and Jackie Boy, Shelly makes reference to Dwight’s “new face”. So is Brolin’s Dwight the same Dwight as Owen’s, just recast in the role, or he supposed to a PRE-Op Dwight, before his new face?

The Sin City stories aren’t told in chronological order (in either the comics or the films). Basically:
-Josh Brolin plays Dwight up until a certain point.
-At said point, Dwight needs to undergo full facial reconstruction surgery which ends up making him look very different.
-After the surgery, “new Dwight” is played by Clive Owen.
