Dimension Films has released the new full-length Sin City: A Dame to Kill For red-band trailer that premiered at the San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend.  And it doesn't seem like directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller (read our SDCC interview) have done anything new for the sequel.  The film stars Josh Brolin as the physically altered Dwight (played by Clive Owen in the first film), who is hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord (Eva Green), and then watches his life go straight to hell.  Also going straight to hell is my interest in this movie.  I enjoyed the first film but felt that even this trailer was too much time spent back in the arbitrarily stylized world.  Nothing had any impact.  The only thing this film could do to surprise me is fashion a tight, engaging narrative.

Hit the jump to watch the full-length Sin City: A Dame to Kill For red-band trailer.  The film also stars Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Powers Booth, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Dennis HaysbertChristopher MeloniJeremy PivenRay LiottaJuno Temple, Stacy Keach, and Julia Garner.  Sin City: A Dame to Kill For opens on August 22nd.

I just feel like I've seen this before.  I love so many of the people involved but just can't muster any enthusiasm.  Trailer via Machinima:

Here’s the official synopsis for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For:

Co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller reunite to bring Miller's visually stunning "Sin City" graphic novels back to the screen in SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR. Weaving together two of Miller's classic stories with new tales, the town's most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more notorious inhabitants. SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR is the follow up to Rodriguez and Miller's 2005 groundbreaking film, FRANK MILLER'S SIN CITY.
