Sing Street is one of my must-see films of this year’s Sundance Film Festival, and now the trailer has found its way online. Directed by John Carney (Once), the film takes place in 1980s Dublin, and “follows 14-year-old Conor (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo), who uses his musical inclinations to win over a girl, the gorgeous Raphina (Lucy Boynton).”

Judging by the trailer, the film looks incredibly charming, and between Once and his follow-up Begin Again, Carney has shown that he knows how to depict the power of music bringing people together. What makes Sing Street stand apart from the other two features is the younger cast and emphasis on 80s music, and it will be interesting to see how the director handles those elements.

Check out the Sing Street trailer below. The film also stars Jack Reynor, Aidan Gillen, and Mark McKenna. The 2016 Sundance Film Festival runs from January 21 – 31st.
