Official Set Photo from the New James Bond Film, SKYFALL

An official set photo from the new James Bond film, Sam Mendes‘ Skyfall, has been released. The photo precedes Mendes’ first videoblog, which goes online tomorrow. So for now, Mendes looking over Judi Dench‘s shoulder will have to tide you over.
Hit the jump to check out the set photo. The film also stars Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris, Ben Chaplin, Berenice Marlohe, Helen McCroy, Albert Finney, and Ralph Fiennes. Skyfall opens November 9th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Skyfall:
Daniel Craig is back as James Bond 007 in Skyfall, the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time. In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

Pretty excited that one of the best cinematographers in the industry is shooting this one. (Deakins can be seen behind the camera in this picture, which makes sense considering he’s the cinematographer.
And it’s being shot on the Alexa, which means it’s going to look extra fantastic.
seems like a big mistake to be shooting digitally after the success MI4 had with large format film. Seems like a step backwards to be shooting at 2k.
I guess they’re shooting digital, or at least for part of it.
