Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe Talk SKYFALL, Collaborating with Sam Mendes and Daniel Craig, and More

by     Posted 1 year, 157 days ago

At the recent New York press day for Skyfall, I was able to speak with Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe (the newest “Bond” girl).  We talked about  what was it like making Skyfall and collaborating with Sam Mendes, how the film is very grounded and it’s the old versus the new, since they both have intimate scenes with Daniel Craig, what was he like to work with and a lot more.

I absolutely loved Skyfall.  Director Sam Mendes has crafted one of the best James Bond movies ever made.  While the Bond franchise is now 50 years old, Mendes has shown the best might be yet to come.  I really can’t recommend this film enough.  For all our Skyfall coverage including our review, clips, posters, my set visit and more, click hereSkyfall also stars Judi Dench, Javier Bardem, Helen McCrory, Ralph Fiennes, and Ben Whishaw.  Hit the jump to watch the interview.

Also, here are my video interviews with Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem and Dame Judi Dench, if you missed them.

Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe:

  • Is it nice to finally be able to talk about the film
  • What was it like making Skyfall and collaborating with Sam Mendes
  • How Skyfall is the old versus the new and it’s very grounded
  • They both have intimate scenes with Daniel Craig as James Bond.  What was it like to work with him and film those scenes

Great interview Frosty! This is the second time this evening though, that I’ve heard our American friends pronounce “Daniel Craig” as “Daniel Cregg”. It seems to be causing some consternation amongst fans out there from looking at the internet – is “Craig” an unusual name in the usa?

I must say, the two actresses look smoking hot…

Yes, in the US we pronounce Craig as “Cregg”, not “Crayg”, e.g. Craig Ferguson, Daniel Craig, it basically rhymes with Greg here.

Good interview Frosty. Feel free to not say “I have to wrap…”. We know how long the video clip is, saying I have to wrap suggests you’re in a rush/being rushed/just another in a line of interviewers, maybe at the end of the line. Let the world know that Frosty is coming to interview, so people better make time. ;) Don’t let the starlets cow you, Berenice looked like she thought you were a cute little puppy.

i sense some awkward tension in the air between these two women. it kinda sucks how noami has to shake her head over and over as Berenice is struggling to speak english- its as if she’s hurrying along, or it’s a pity nod, like she’s not even listening to what berenice is saying but acknowledging her struggling anyway. kinda annoying really.
either way, they were both great in the movie and glad we could see them discuss it.
