I'm not big fans of Al Gough and Miles Millar, the creators behind "Smallville". They had a chance to do something really interesting in re-writing Superman's origin and the only worthwhile thing they came out with was that Lex Luthor wasn't always a dick. Clark Kent was always a boy scout, he pined after a girl who could never know his true secret, and every single character was never held responsible for their actions because it was the fault of meteor rock or some alien creature. It was essentially "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" for retards who needed the name-recognition and in-jokes for DC's most boring character and that's why I only watched three seasons of it. But the show was a success and then Gough and Millar got a writing credit for "Spider-Man 2" and while that film is legitimately great, I can't help but wonder how much of that script belongs to Gough/Millar and how much belongs to Alvin Sargent and Michael Chabon. However, I am willing to give them both full credit for "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor". But now the duo are eager to direct for the big screen and will be doing so with their script, "Salisbury". The press release Variety received described it thusly: "The plot revolves around a young cast and a supernatural element." In a related story, the guy or gal who wrote this press release doesn't know what a "plot" is.
