The sudden rush to remake the Snow White fairytale into a movie is not borne of the purest of motives. (This is perhaps best evidenced in just how rancid Mirror, Mirror looks.) But to the extent that marketing can be trusted, the Snow White movement may give us something breathtaking in Snow White and the Huntsman. A new Japanese teaser trailer has hit the net---spotting the new stuff has never been a strength for this writer, but other sites promise there is new footage within. Aside from that, the international clip successfully sells me on the epic potential in less than a minute. Massive scope, brutal battles, beautiful cinematography, inventive creature design, striking visual effects... it's all there. I invite you to watch for yourself after the jump.

Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Sam Claflin, and Charlize Theron star in the feature directorial debut of Rupert Sanders. Snow White and the Huntsman opens on June 1.

Official synopsis:

In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Charlize Theron) who is out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) who was dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power.

The breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale is from Joe Roth, the producer of Alice in Wonderland, producer Sam Mercer and acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders.
