The teaser trailer for David Fincher’s The Social Network has just landed online. Also known as “The Facebook Movie” and based off Ben Mezrich’s book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook – A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betryal, the film is about…the founding of Facebook…and the sex, money, genius, and betrayal that went with it.
The teaser does a good job of teasing as it’s comprised of lines of dialogue from the film (West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin wrote the script) , but they give you a general idea of the plot. The movie centers on Facebook’s creator Mark Zuckerberg (played by Zombieland‘s Jesse Eisenberg) and the drama surrounding the creation of the social network site that is now one of the most dominant sites on the Internet. Is anyone else getting flashbacks to Mr. Show's “Coupon: The Movie” – this seems similar.
It's about the events surrounding the creation of facebook (the company), not about facebook (the website). And it just so happened to change the paradigm of that little thing they call the internet. And they just so happened to bring in $900M in revenue last year with a twenty-something CEO. Yea, that's “retarded” all right. /sarcasm
