Mere hours after showing off her guns for Machete Kills, Sofia Vergara is now looking to turn up the Heat. Vergara is reportedly in talks to star opposite Jason Statham (The Transporter) for the remake of the 1986 crime actioner that starred Burt Reynolds. Simon West (Con-Air) will direct from a William Goldman (Heat) script. Variety reports that the updated version centers on Nick Escalante (Statham), a compulsive gambler on the streets of Vegas who takes odd jobs providing “security” to support his addiction. When his friend is brutally beaten, Nick’s professional and personal lives collide as he’s forced to take on the mob…as only Statham can.
No need to put your money towards a good cause. Buy a stupidly expensive video game instead.
