I have been talking about the Stanley Film Festival quite a bit lately, because it's my favorite fest around. I've been adamant that, if you live in Colorado or have the means, you should attend (rooms and tickets here). And I've got another reason to recommend this year's lineup with an exclusive new image from Some Kind of Hate, which will be premiering at the fest. The film will be premiering on May 2nd, with director Adam Egypt Mortimer and all of his cast (Ronen Rubinstein, Sierra McCormick, Grace Phipps, Lexi Atkins, Noah Segan, Michael Polish, Maestro Harrell and Brando Eaton) in attendance.

I've seen a rough cut of Some Kind of Hate and, while I don't know how much has changed, I can tell you that it's a cool new take on the slasher genre with an entirely new kind of slasher villain to root for (or against). It's also very, very bloody and doesn't pull any punches. The below image features Polish in an about-to-be very uncomfortable situation. Stanley Film Festival runs from April 30th-May3rd.

Here's the official synopsis for Some Kind of Hate:

When a troubled teen is subjected to severe bullying, he accidentally conjures Moira Karp. Once a teenage girl pushed to suicide, Moira is now an unstoppable force on a mission of gruesome retribution. But when she goes to far, he must prevent her from spiraling out of control in this passionate and vividly violent supernatural thriller.
