We've still got a little ways to go until we see Tom Holland make his first appearance as Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War, but Holland has been teasing what he's capable of via Instagram. In case you have no idea what I'm talking about, I highly recommend perusing his feed because it's got quite a few videos of him back flipping all over the place. They're pretty damn impressive and will also make you even more confident in his casting as the webslinger of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

During an interview about his upcoming movie, In the Heart of the Sea, Holland took a moment to discuss my fascination with his Instagram videos and noted that part of the reason he can do that is because of Billy Elliot:

"I used to be in a show in London called Billy Elliot, so I was one of the young kids in that, and that's just one of the skills I learned from there really. And I've just sort of continued on with it and tried to excel, and it's gonna help me a lot I think when we come to shooting Spider-Man."

Even though he's a self-proclaimed Spider-Man fan, he addressed what he didn't know about the character until researching him further:

"There's lots of things I didn't know about him. I mean, there's so many different versions of his story, and my favorite of which at the moment is the Ultimate Spider-Man. And the one thing I'm really excited about is that he's not a superhero that's on his own, you know? He has connections with some of the most powerful people in this Marvel Universe so I'm quite excited to explore that and see if Marvel will go down that route, you know? Which I'm sure they will. I mean, if they've got all these incredible characters at hand, I mean, why not use them, you know?"

And then there's the issue of this image from Holland's Instagram account. When he posted it, folks went crazy and flooded it with comments about how he was "revealing" his Peter Parker haircut, but Holland clarified that that wasn't his intention at all:

"But you know what? That was so innocent though! I did not know that I was doing that. Afterwards I was kind of like, 'Yeah, that is kind of Spider-Man hair.' I'd just watched Edward Scissorhands again and I sort of looked up Johnny Depp, I was like, 'Oh, he's so cool. I'm gonna try to copy his hairstyle,' and everyone went crazy saying I looked like Peter Parker, which I guess is a good thing. But that is not my hairstyle right now."

You can catch Holland as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War on May 6, 2016 and then in his solo film on July 28, 2017. Also, be sure to keep an eye out for my full chat with him on In the Heart of the Sea coming your way soon.
