The first trailer for Spring Breakers has gone online. The movie centers on a group of girls (played by Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine) who go to disturbing lengths to keep their spring break going, and their journey becomes even stranger when they encounter unhinged drug dealer, Alien (James Franco). The trailer looks pretty nuts, as we see a barrage of footage in a short amount of time. The highlight is most definitely Franco’s character, and I can’t wait to see just how far he takes the quirky role in the full film. In his review, Matt described the film as “wild, agressive, mildly disturbing, darkly comic, and surprisingly thoughtful.” In short, Spring Breakers clearly looks like a Spring Break movie made by the director of Trash Humpers.

This movie is outstanding, bizarre and a pleasure to watch. James Franco is one of the finest actors of our generation. He’s performance is just so utter craziness (based on Dangeruss not Riff Raff as James has quoted) that it has to be seen to be believed and in a just world deserves an Oscar.
This movie will sure to divide opinions but wow what an awesome ride. Hats off to Harmony Korine and all involved. It will gain a cult following and hopefully box office gold.

This movie is actually fantastic. Saw it at TIFF. Would’ve been among my faves of last year if it had seen release. It’s kind of horrifically dark in an extremely entertaining way.

Seeing all the pictures posted in the past from this movie, I was somewhat stunned but the tone and seriousness the trailer portrays. This looks like a lot more then girls in bikinis running around being drunk and stupid. Franco looks good in this. And I was digging Skrillex’s “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites” on this trailer.
While I can understand people having issues with him I personally like James Franco. Still while he might be capable one day he is still unable to carry most films by himself . It really takes someone like Danny Boyle to bring out his complete talent.
The fact that this trailer features more girls dressed in bikinis(not that I am complaining) then info on the plot has me thinking this is going to be a terrible film. Add the fact that two of the main characters can’t act for $#!+ and you now have a recipe for disaster.
