20th Century Fox has released five new Spy clips for Paul Feig's (Bridesmaids, The Heat) upcoming espionage comedy. The film stars Melissa McCarthy as a desk-bound CIA agent who must go into the field for the first time when the identity of the agency's premiere assets are compromised.

Jason Statham, who co-stars in the film as rugged top agent Rick Ford, is a consistently underrated performer who's long been relegated to shoot 'em up action films. Don't get me wrong, I love those movies, but I'm excited to see Statham finally get a chance to flex his comedy skills. If these clips are any indication, he's going to kill it. While he's definitely still playing to type as the brawny badass, Statham's bringing a self-awareness and utterly crass delivery to the character. Perri singled Statham out as a one of Spy's highlights in her SXSW review, and early word is that he's the film's surprise scene-stealer. Based off these clips, I believe it.

Check out the new Spy clips below. The film opens June 5th and also stars Rose Byrne, Jude Law, Bobby Cannavale, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Peter Serafinowicz, Miranda Hart, Allison Janney and Morena Baccarin.

Here's the official synopsis for Spy.

Susan Cooper (Melissa McCarthy) is an unassuming, deskbound CIA analyst, and the unsung hero behind the Agency’s most dangerous missions. But when her partner (Jude Law) falls off the grid and another top agent (Jason Statham) is compromised, she volunteers to go deep undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer, and prevent a global disaster.
