20th Century Fox has released a new Spy trailer and poster. The film stars Melissa McCarthy as Susan Cooper, a CIA analyst who’s going into the field for the very first time after the identity of all the regular field agents is jeopardized.

While this trailer isn’t packed with laughs and it can’t resist the “fatty fall down” humor that I find a little cringeworthy, it does have some good jokes, especially near the end. The film got a lot of positive buzz coming out of SXSW (click here to read Perri’s review), and I’m still incredibly excited to see it. Looking at this trailer and having recently rewatched The Heat, it’s clear that McCarthy is at her best when she’s insulting other characters, so hopefully we’ll be seeing more of that.

Check out the new Spy trailer and poster below. The film opens June 5th and also stars Jason Statham, Rose Byrne, Jude Law, Bobby Cannavale, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Peter Serafinowicz, Miranda Hart, Allison Janney and Morena Baccarin.

Here's the official synopsis for Spy:

Susan Cooper (Melissa McCarthy) is an unassuming, deskbound CIA analyst, and the unsung hero behind the Agency’s most dangerous missions. But when her partner (Jude Law) falls off the grid and another top agent (Jason Statham) is compromised, she volunteers to go deep undercover to infiltrate the world of a deadly arms dealer, and prevent a global disaster.
