Last week when I sat down with The Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb for an exclusive video interview to promote today’s Blu-ray/DVD release, something very cool happened: Stan Lee interrupted the interview.  While Stan came in just to say hi, I decided to use the opportunity to have him pitch Marc Webb on his next Spider-Man cameo since he’s now signed on to direct the sequel.  As you might imagine, Stan had a lot of ideas on how his next character could be a major part of the sequel.  Hit the jump to watch.

In addition, if you missed my interview with Marc Webb where he confirmed Jamie Foxx as Electro, the importance of Oscorp in the sequel, how there will be a new Spidey suit, and a lot more, click here to watch it.

For those that missed it, here’s Stan Lee’s cameo in The Amazing Spider-Man:

  1. WOW. What an amazing moment to find oneself recording.
Every Marvel fan should see this to see the stamp of approval Stan gives to Webb – really as a long term Spidey reader, I approved of his movie as well.

And this was by a LONGSHOT – the Best and most memorable Stan Lee cameo of any film to date!

Makes me wonder what interview Stan was going across the hall to do… =)

    • While I’m glad to see Webb, and any director who makes a great Marvel movie, get Stan Lee’s stamp of approval, Avengers is Stan Lee’s best cameo appearance.

  2. Stan Lee put his ‘stamp of approval’ on EVERY Marvel movie. Even that godawful Fury movie with David Hasselhoff. It’s nothing special. He’s just a fame whore. And, Marc Webb made the WORST Spider-Man movie… by a LONGSHOT.

    • Worse than Spider-man 3? I find it hard to believe you’re serious on this one. I don’t see much reason to compare. The new one was a great time with a very different vibe than Raimi’s but they both have their strengths. I found the old ones shallow but more entertaining and flashy. I’ve seen several animated iterations of Spider-man. Not sure why there’s any reason to hate on one and deify the other.

I do think the latest one gets a lot of undeserved flak because of the timing of the release, mostly.

    • Not sure what movie you were watching, Wally, but it wasn’t the same Amazing Spiderman I enjoyed. NOT the worse one by a long shot.

  3. Stan Lee should play Albert Osborn,Norman Osborn’s Father and real (Mad) Scientific Genius behind the Oscorp creations.

  4. Yeah I love Stan Lee, but his opinion means bunk when most audiences were mixed to negative on Amazing Spider-Man.

That said, Stan Lee was one of the ONLY highlights about Amazing Spider-Man. Make him the star of the next and maybe I won’t wait for Redbox.
