Paramount has launched the Facebook page for J.J. Abrams‘ Star Trek Into Darkness. Normally, when a studio sets up a movie’s Facebook page, it’s no big deal. It’s standard procedure. But for Star Trek Into Darkness, Paramount will release the first trailer for the film once the page reaches 500,000 likes. Additionally, fans will have the chance to enter a contest that will give them an all expenses paid trip to Hollywood for the premiere. The winner and five friends will also receive $60,000 in cash. Finally, the film’s official website will be launching soon, so keep an eye on startrekintodarkness.com.
Click here to go like the film’s Facebook page because we want to see the trailer. The film stars Chris Pine, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Alice Eve, Peter Weller, Noel Clarke, and Benedict Cumberbatch. Star Trek Into Darkness opens in 3D and IMAX on May 17, 2013. [Update: It turns out this was a fake page. I guess we'll have to go back to Abrams releasing the film in 3-frame increments]
I can’t believe you actually fell for that scam… such an EPIC FAIL!! x’D
I’m pretty sure that’s fake.
This is just like those FB things where idiots are asked to type something, and then something amazing will happen – then doesn’t. I noticed there are a whole 4,200 likes so far Almost there!
Brilliant marketing strategy. I’m curious, there is tangible proof of a press release from Paramount Pictures of this being an authentic page, but no real proof of it being a fake or fraud. I believe the only proof that supports this is a fake page is a tweet from an unverified Twitter account.
I still remain that this is a true, legitimate page from Paramount.
