After making such a strong impression as the blade-legged assassin Gazelle in Kingsman: The Secret Service, it’s no surprise that dancer/actress Sofia Boutella is moving on to yet another highly anticipated project. According to Deadline, Boutella just scored “a lead role” in Star Trek 3. The outlet doesn’t have any details on her character, including whether she’s good or evil, but the author does reiterate that it’s a “lead role,” so she should have a significant presence in the film.

Apparently Boutella also had roles in a movie called StreetDance 2 and the Monsters sequel, Monsters: Dark Continent, but I haven’t seen either and she doesn’t really have much dialogue in Kingsman, so it’s tough to assess her acting chops but if this Star Trek 3 part is a more physical one, there’s no doubt she’ll nail it. Have you see her Nike commercial? It’s insane.

Star Trek 3 is set to open on July 8, 2016. Justin Lin is directing with a script from Simon Pegg and Doug Jung. Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Anton Yelchin, Karl Urban and Zoe Saldana are all set to return, but we don’t know much about what the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise will be up to this time around. There was a report claiming that Idris Elba was in talks to play the villain, but according to Pegg, he’s not playing a Klingon as some suspected.
