With Star Trek Beyond set to open July 22nd in North America, last night Paramount invited hundreds of fans to the studio in Hollywood to unveil the latest trailer. However, in a bit of a twist, not only did the fans see the newest bit of marketing, director Justin Lin showed off about ten minutes of the movie, invited everyone to participate in a dedication to Leonard Nimoy, and then invited everybody to party in a soundstage where the studio had set up props and costumes from the film. It was like a big Hollywood premiere but instead of VIPs, it was hundreds of fans.
For a full recap of the event, which included Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, and J.J. Abrams talking about Star Trek Beyond and inviting everyone in attendance to the world premiere at San Diego Comic-Con opening night, read Tommy’s report.
However, since most of you couldn’t attend the event, I decided to post all the images Paramount sent over and they’re all below. While I didn’t think the first Star Trek Beyond trailer was all that, the newest one does a fantastic job selling the story and after seeing the footage last night, I’m convinced we’re going to get a really fun ride in the newest film.
