Benedict Cumberbatch’s John Harrison Has a Message for James T. Kirk in New Promo for STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS

     April 19, 2013

Yesterday, a new image from Star Trek Into Darkness was released that showcased Benedict Cumberbatch’s villain John Harrison looking rather, well, villainous.  Today, Paramount has released a new promo clip for the film that features Harrison monologuing over some fuzzy clips from the J.J. Abrams-directed sequel.  He’s obviously not very fond of Chris Pine’s James T. Kirk, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the showdown between these two characters when the pic hits theaters next month.

Hit the jump to watch the new video.  The film also stars Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, and Peter Weller.  Star Trek Into Darkness opens on in IMAX 3D on May 15th and in 2D and 3D on May 17th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Star Trek Into Darkness:

In the wake of a shocking act of terror from within their own organization, the crew of The Enterprise is called back home to Earth.  In defiance of regulations and with a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads his crew on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice.

As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

Zod has a message for Superman, Khan has a message for Kirk. Why don’t they just WhatsApp each other?

Khan? Again? U truly are stuck in a rut aren’t U ‘tinypenis’?

      • The Blue Elephant

        Masshuu you troll.

I think he’s Khan too. Everything adds up, he has super human abilties like Khan (you can see him doing a crazy jump and shooting guys in the trailer), he seems to have a personal vendetta against Kirk, he has his own ship and goes one on one with the enterprise just like in Wrath of Khan, the ending of the first trailer paid homage to Wrath of Khan, his name John Harrison is super generic, and JJ and everyone else is being fairly quiet on who he is.

        Calm down btw

I get the Zod viral message (alien power communicating through our rudimentary telecom systems). But this one doesn’t make sense. They’re all in the future where tech is much better…so the static filled screen and related effects just seem out of place. Why does his message look like the picture on a 1960′s TV that needs to have its antennae adjusted? Feels out of place to me.

That said, still super excited for this movie!

    • Masshuu il Thulcandra

Because evil Starfleet & UFP are trying to block the truth from every one. Don’t know if this is part of the movie but it is interesting that JH talks about Kirk’s future. Is he from the future returning to correct the timeline?

      • MCP

I hope he isn’t from the future. If so, then that will be 2 Star Trek movies in a row where the villain is from the future, out for revenge against one of the Original Enterprise crew. That would be to simple just to reuse/rehash again, but I’m hoping I am wrong on this…

his message is that jj abrahms is a hack moron.

both this star trek remake sequel and the remake before it are crap and have nothing to do with star trek, not canon at all.

his message is also that jj is going to butcher star wars with his crap. it won’t be an official star wars movie anyway. disney screwed up with star wars, canceling 3d versions of official 6 films (5 of which were not released), cancelled the awesome star wars the clone wars series, getting rid of lucas arts and several of the star wars games that had not been released. Screw you disney, jj abrahms, kathleen kennedy!
