Two new TV spots for a couple of the year’s most anticipated sequels have landed online. Briefly:
- Star Trek Into Darkness – A new extended TV spot for J.J. Abrams’ upcoming sequel plays up the film’s humor/fun aspect. The pic stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Alice Eve, and Benedict Cumberbatch and opens in IMAX 3D on May 15th and in 2D on May 17th.
- Iron Man 3 – A new TV spot for Shane Black’s Marvel sequel highlights Ben Kingsley’s villain The Mandarin. The film also stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, and Don Cheadle and opens in 3D on May 3rd.

In the wake of a shocking act of terror from within their own organization, the crew of The Enterprise is called back home to Earth. In defiance of regulations and with a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads his crew on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice.
As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
