Making-Of Featurette for STAR TREK: THE VIDEO GAME Shows off New Footage

     February 15, 2013

It’s been a while since we’ve seen any new footage from the upcoming Star Trek: The Video Game, but thankfully a making-of featurette has been released that shows off more of the game.  As executive producer Brian Miller explains in the featurette, the game is co-op with players taking the role of either Kirk or Spock.  Your playing style depends on which character you’re playing.  If you’re Kirk, you tend to go in guns blazing, but if you’re Spock, you’re going to take a stealthier approach.  The fact that you get to do the Vulcan neck-pinch brings a smile to my face.

Hit the jump to check out the featurette.  The game will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on April 23rd.  Click here to pre-order Star Trek: The Video Game.

1998 called. It wants its graphics back.

Mass Effect 3 has excellent dialogue, where choices matter. I see none of that here and that makes Star Trek just as appealing as action and adventure. As a trekker I feel anxious this is going to be a stinker, and I really really don’t want it to be.

How about doing a Canon star trek game utilizing the underused best ship in starfleet, the Enterprise – E.

Not getting this remake game, looks terrible as well.

Got the new Aliens game, that is what Alien 5 should have been, not the fake remake alien 5, prohomomeateus.

Dialogue is discouraging. Graphics are adequate, but the hero face motion is stiffer than that of characters in Dead Space 3. If DS3 had a thin story, then the characters made up for it, this doesn’t seem to have any of that.
And in the mind set of soon to be released Playstation 4 and Xbox 720, the over all feel is that this is just a quick cash grab rushed to be released on the old consoles, with no intention to make a quality product even if it must wait for this Christmass to mature for the new consoles and do a decent job on the game itself.
