Last week, we told you about Daniel Fleetwood, a terminally ill man who wanted to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but believed he wouldn’t be able to live long enough to reach the film’s December 18th release date. Fleetwood’s story went viral, and the Internet started up the #ForceforDaniel campaign, which eventually caught the attention of the film’s stars Mark Hamill, John Boyega, and Peter Mayhew before ultimately reaching the higher-ups at Disney who made the screening happen.

"To all our wonderful supporters, friends, family and awesome strangers: Daniel's final dream was just granted!” said his wife Ashley on Facebook. "Today the wonderful Disney and Lucasfilms made his final dream come true, in the amazing typical Disney way, they really do make dreams come true!"

According to The Digital Spy, Fleetwood passed away not long after seeing the movie. Hopefully, the film was as good as he dreamed it would be. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends

Fleetwood died from a rare form of cancer called spindle cell sarcoma. To donate to cancer research, click here. For more of our Star Wars coverage, click here or on the links below.
