When I found out I’d be talking to J.J. Abrams at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens press junket I instantly started thinking about my questions. Almost immediately I realized it would be hard to ask things he hasn’t been asked. After all, since he landed his dream job, he’s spoken again and again about his love of the franchise, what it meant to direct Harrison Ford on the set of a Star Wars movie, and every other question you can think of. Rather than have him say the same quotes again and again, I wanted to try and ask a few new things, and also have fun with the interview. The other thing to know is…since no one has seen the film outside of the cast and Disney executives, it’s hard to ask specific questions about the movie since everyone is so guarded with their answers.

Knowing all this, when I sat down with Abrams I immediately asked about his first cut of the film, deleted scenes, if BB-8 is a boy or a girl, whether Han or Greedo shot first, his rank of the six previous Star Wars movies, his best and worst day on set, and a few other things. While you’re not going to learn any of the secrets of The Force Awakens, I think you’ll have fun seeing what Abrams had to say. Check it out below.
