In the future shown by Demolition Man, a film that has some surprisingly sharp satire buried beneath Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes trading blows, commercial jingles are now hit songs. We’ve reached a similar point where we treat trailers with the same reverence we treat movies if not more so. Look no further than the latest trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which as been picked apart like the Zapruder film, done with only music, turned into a supercut with past Force Awakens trailers, and now it’s been mashed-up with another blockbuster, although one that’s slightly more localized to our planet.

Collider reader Ryan alerted us to the good folks at MMtoolparts who have taken the latest Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer and with minimal editing made it fit with the audio from the new Force Awakens trailer. It’s surprising how well these two go together, and yet it makes sense that they do. Neither trailer provides much information on their respective plot, and instead are trying to hit soaring emotional beats to drive you to theater. Judging by the positive reaction to both trailers, it works.
