Star Wars Battlefront for next-gen consoles is still a long way off. It’s so far away that the trailer shown at yesterday’s E3 2014 presentation had no footage and ended with a notice that people would get to see more in spring 2015. Not that the game would be released in 2015, but that fans would get to see more footage. Instead, the trailer shows how passionate the developers at DICE are about getting their Star Wars game right. They believe going back to the locations where the original trilogy was filmed is the key to doing that, and while I’m glad they’re passionate about what they’re doing, traveling has nothing to do with gameplay. It’s good to know that the team is taking their time, but this trailer is more of a reminder that “Hey! This game isn’t dead! We’re just being really meticulous!”
