Davis is the guy who portrayed Wicket in Star Wars: Episode VI – The Return of the Jedi and he also appeared in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace as Wald, the Rodian member of Anakin’s podracing pit team, Weazel, a Tatooine weapons dealer, and as Yoda in select scenes.

What does that mean for him in Episode VII?  We can’t be sure, but perhaps there is a chance he could be reprising one of the aforementioned roles.  But, then again, who’s to say he isn’t taking on a brand new character?

It’s pretty unlikely Davis actually got a call from J.J. Abrams today, especially considering there’s only three weeks of filming left, but it’d seem silly for the folks behind the video to date it “Thursday, 16th October, 2014” for no reason.  Maybe today is his first day of filming?  Your guess is as good as mine, but at least we know he’s officially on the roster and we have this particularly charming video to enjoy.
