In a cool piece from the marketing archives, a 1977 Star Wars making-of documentary has popped up online.  The documentary is hosted by C-3PO and R2D2 and they take viewers through some of the behind-the-scenes technical difficulties of making the movie as well as the fan phenomena that arose after the film’s release.  While bits of this documentary have been seen in other Star Wars docs, it’s cool seeing this in its own 1970s element.  I also wouldn’t be surprised if this ends up as a special feature on the upcoming Blu-rays.

Hit the jump to check out the hour-long documentary.  Star Wars: The Complete Saga hits Blu-ray this September.

  1. …”and a strange co-pilot: The Woo-Kee”. Interesting old timey pronounciation, my good man! All this time I have been pronouncing it “Wuh-ki” — poor Chewie!

  2. That will never be included. It would be great if it were, but it will all be shiny new documentaries. Those old ones have too many contradictions.
