We’ve got a couple of new posters to share with you today. First up is an international poster for the 3D re-release of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menance. There’s not much to it, as it’s basically just Yoda getting his stare on. Apparently overseas Yoda is the big draw to get people to see Episode I again, while in the U.S. it’s Darth Maul and pod racers. Additionally, we’ve got a poster for Tarsem Singh’s Snow White film Mirror Mirror. Every new piece of marketing material for the flick makes it less and less appealing. The trailer was beyond strange, and this poster ups the “fluffy” factor even more. Maybe kids will respond, but at this point I don’t see teenagers/adults flocking to this Snow White tale.

Hit the jump to check out the posters. Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace 3D opens February 10th, 2012, and Mirror Mirror is slated for March 16th, 2012.

Both posters via IMP Awards.

Here’s the synopsis for Mirror Mirror:

In Relativity’s Mirror Mirror starring Oscar®-winner Julia Roberts and breakout star Lily Collins (The Blind Side), an evil Queen (Roberts) steals control of a kingdom, and an exiled princess (Collins) enlists the help of seven resourceful rebels to win back her birthright in a spirited adventure comedy filled with jealousy, romance, and betrayal that will capture the imagination of audiences the world over.  The film also stars Armie Hammer (The Social Network) as the object of their affection, Prince Andrew Alcott, and Nathan Lane (The Birdcage) as the hapless and bungling servant to the Queen.

Too bad there isn’t a newly shot and directed movie to go along with the new Phantom Menace poster.

  • Sam S.

The ‘Mirror Mirror’ poster is awful. I hate when more than two typefaces are used, especially one’s as different as these. The one font is desperately trying to copy the Harry Potter font too.

Not one more cent of mine will be going to the Phantom Menace, sorry George that movie was one of the biggest disappointments of my life and I place the blame squarely on you.

  • tarek

    Meh in 3D

  • Salfie

Can I just say that no matter what your opinion of Episode I is, what sense does it make to advertise the movie with a shot that wasn’t actually in the film? There was no digital Yoda in Episode I and yet there he is on the poster. I’m guessing they replaced him in the film, but still.

    • James

That’s exactly what happened, actually ;)

I do object to the poster too though- they’re rereleasing specifically for 3D, so let’s see something visually exciting. I don’t mean lightsabers coming at my face, but there should at least be foreground, midground, background.

the adults will flock to snow white if their kids wanna see it. there aren’t too many family films for kids coming out in march, and the ones that are, are spaced apart.

  • Ed

Mirror Mirror needs a better promo campaign, and this uninspired generic half-face close-up on white background poster is the worst thing it can possibly get. the font for “the snow white legend comes alive” looks too much like that other snow white movie’s font, as if this movie hasn’t been overshadowed enough by that other movie ever since the trailer war erupted. they should probably go the alice in wonderland route.

I find it sad that so many people are giving lucas hell for re-releasing TPM, but cream their pants at the next tidbit of info on these stupid uoriginal comic book flicks. Every single superhero deserves a movie now?? who’s next, antman ?? Real original stuff.? At least TPM had originality to it. people need to get off georges back and attack cinema garbage like those STUPID transformers movie. I am one of the ADULT star wars fans that realizes you CANT get back the feeling you had watching these movies as a kid. Boo hoo. TPM ruined my childhood ! what a bunch of losers ! I for one will blaze a giant fattie so I can expieience the podrace in 3D. and whoever griped about the cgi yoda. that was done 7 years ago, while filming EP lll. And you call yourself a star wars fan. where have you been dude ?

It is a little funny, to see ALL of the praise THIS FILM IS GETTING BEFORE IT GETS PUT OUT.
