It would be great if Ahsoka appeared in it.

They said the art style of the characters have changed a bit from the previous series.

They haven’t shown the characters yet, have they?

    • pinkincide

Do they still look like goddamn wood carvings? That makes Clone Wars unwatchable for me.

      • GunzOfNavarone

You get used to it, but if that’s your sole reason for not watching it, you’ve missed out on some great story arcs. I have a feeling they were styled that way as hair is the hardest and most time consuming thing to animate.

      • Jay

I know how you feel! The art style does seem to be guided by saving money, as Gunz pointed out, but makes the show look cheap and unappealing.

I have video games that look better than Clone Wars, so whatever money they saved wasn’t worth it.

      • Andrew Shaw

Video games generally cost more to make than a kids cartoon series, so that would make sense.

      • Jay

The problem with a TV show is that they put all their cost-saving measures into the pilot which stylistically paints themselves into a corner, regardless of how popular it may become. You can’t very well have the first episode look like a cartoon and the last episode look photo-real, for instance.

Had they put more time and money into the resources used to make the show I would have watched it. I guess one can make the case that the show is for kids (so why make it look good, right?), but I’ve seen a few episodes and it’s not just for children – it’s pulp fiction that is essentially ageless.

One could make the argument that visuals don’t matter as long as there’s a good story, but that’s a fallacy – there’s a difference between “plot” and “story”. Star Wars is an established franchise with an established look – the look is a HUGE part of the story.

For example, what if they made a Godzilla mini series where Godzilla looked like a Care Bear? It could be just as mean and breathe fire from its mouth (which doesn’t affect the plot), but the visuals won’t line up with what made people fans of the original, and many would be offended by hearts and rainbows on their favorite terrible lizard!

Star Wars: Clone Wars may have a fantastic plot, but the characters look ridiculous, and that totally ruins it for me. This isn’t to say I don’t want people to watch it – I hope it makes a billion dollars a year and they make more episodes and wonderful success is heaped upon their heads, but my personal opinion is that I’m not going to watch it until it looks far less silly.

  • DoobieDave

This is a great idea. I used to be pretty familiar with the expanded universe, and I don’t think this is a time period they have ever really explored before.

  • RiddleThemThis

Whatever happened to that live action series that george lucas described as empire strikes back on steroids?

  • Nancy

Normally I would have been interested in this, but because jj the hack abrahms is involved with one of the movies and because disney cancelled ‘The Clone Wars’ and many Star Wars games in development, I AIN’T INTERESTED IN STAR WARS NO MORE YOU DUMB SHITS!

    • Bomtronathon

Why don’t you just take it one thing at a time? Watch a couple episodes and if you don’t like it stop. That way you don’t miss out on a potentially good show because of a grudge.

      • s

people do not seem to get it…… wars fans DO NOT WANT JJ INVOLVED AT ALL!

      • Bomtronathon

My earliest memories involve SW in some way, I still have my original vintage figure collection, I’m a charter member of Rancho Obi Wan, and I’ve been to 5 of the 6 US Star Wars Celebrations. I think I count as a Star Wars fan. I personally have a wait and see attitude toward Abrams and Episode VII. Let’s try to be objective about things. And besides that, I was originally referring to the animated show which doesn’t involve Abrams.

    • MEY

Take it easy, Nancy, and relax. Sleep a little bit, cook something tasty, have a good sex. After it everything will be brighter.

      Just relax… zzzz… zzzzzz…

      • MEY

        And Abrams, without an ‘h’…

Normally I would be interested in what you have to say Nancy but the fact that you are having a that-time-of-the-month hysterics about Star Wars makes me realize you are probably fat and ugly.

  • SV7

We don’t want clones or shiny ships or new stupid looking aliens.
We want X-wings and Tie fighters and Star Destroyers!
This finally looks like STAR WARS.

  • Martino

That was a terrible teaser trailer. It basically showed just the title.

  • sensee

not interested in any disney jj abrhams related shit! Even though jj has supposedly have nothing to do with this series, I am still not interested because he is going to shit on star wars and make it so bad it will be beyond repair.
