Collider Shareables: New ‘The Last Jedi’ Stormtrooper Design Revealed; Tom Holland Meets Andrew Garfield
We here at Collider pride ourselves on the diversity of our content, but there are only so many hours in the day—we can’t possibly get to everything. That’s where Collider Shareables comes in. It’s your one-stop shop for anything from the week that falls more on the side of entertaining or amusing rather than newsworthy. And since we can’t write about everything that pops up on the world wide web in a week, this is the place to find smaller, intriguing curios and behind-the-scenes looks from the projects we’re looking forward to most.
This week was a busy one in the world of shareable content! First up, we’ve got a behind-the-scenes dispatch from Star Wars: The Last Jedi involving Rian Johnson’s slightly redesigned Stormtroopers. Then, we’ve got the (BAFTA-winning!) Tom Holland talking about his first meeting with the previous Spidey, Andrew Garfield. Next, we dig into a surprisingly tech-y Easter Egg from The LEGO Batman Movie. We also have our first look at the Love, Actually sequel, a super fun behind-the-scenes look at the foley work involved in Trollhunters, a truly hilarious compilation of every Tom Hardy grunt in Taboo, the first logo for Pacific Rim: Uprising, a peek at Millie Bobby Brown’s surprising visit to the set of Avengers: Infinity War, and to round it all out, a very sweet look back at an early Carrie Fisher interview that never fails to hit us right in the feelings.
Bonus! If you like any of these shareable stories, you can get more by following Collider’s official Facebook page.
Tom Holland Meets Andrew Garfield
We’re still waiting to set eyes on Tom Holland’s official Spider-Man feature debut with Spider-Man: Homecoming, but at last weekend’s BAFTAs, Holland got a chance to meet his Spidey predecessor – Andrew Garfield – and chat with him about the role.
Rian Johnson Reveals 'The Last Jedi' Stormtroopers
While we’ve all been craning our necks trying to keep an eye out for that heavily awaited Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer, director Rian Johnson casually dropped a behind-the-scenes photo of the new Stormtroopers he’ll be using in Episode 8. The tweaks from the last batch of Stormtroopers we saw are slight, but it’s certainly nice to have a look at the forthcoming epic.
Behind the Scenes of 'Trollhunters'
As Netflix continues to gift us with thoughtful and awesome content, it seems like we’ve got a new series to be a fan of every week – but ever since Guillermo del Toro’s Trollhunters was released, I’ve been unable to watch much else. As if that weren’t enough, the week also brought us this delightful behind-the-scenes look at the intense foley work that goes into making the charming animated series.
'The LEGO Batman Movie' Gets a Real Life Easter Egg
In a real stroke of movie/real world synergetic genius, Apple has added a fun The LEGO Batman Movie easter egg for anyone willing to whip out their iPhone. Simply address Siri with the oft-repeated Batman line “Hey, ‘Puter,” and your iPhone will recognize you as the genius and six-packed Dark Knight, and will relay messages to you like: “You have a message from the Condiment King. It says ‘Pbbbffftttt!'” and “Welcome home, sir. FYI, Robin is trying on costumes in the Batcave again. He’s doing some pirouettes in Batryshnikov.”
We Now Have an Official Tom Hardy "Grunt Counter"
Anyone who’s witnessed the glory that is Tom Hardy in Mad Max: Fury Road, Taboo, or countless other meaty macho roles is bound to be familiar with Hardy’s signature grunt style. It was only a matter of time until someone rounded up all the times the enigmatic actor grunted in his gritty FX show. The results? Absolutely brilliant.
Our Official First Look at the 'Love Actually' "Sequel"
Last week, news broke that the Love, Actually cast would be reuniting for a “sequel” – or rather, a short reuniting the cast in order to promote Red Nose Day. But it wasn’t until later that we got our first photographic proof of the reunion. Cute!
John Boyega Reveals the Official Logo for 'Pacific Rim: Uprising'
John Boyega revealed our first official look at the logo for the upcoming sequel to Guillermo del Toro’s Kaiju epic, Pacific Rim: Uprising. Let us know what you think about it in the comments!
Millie Bobby Brown Stops By the 'Avengers: Infinity War' Set
We’re not sure what the Stranger Things superstar, Millie Bobby Brown is doing hanging around the set of Avengers: Infinity War (giving directing tips to the Russo Brothers? Joining the Avengers with her monster-killing powers?), but we’re not mad at it.
