Close your eyes. Open your mind. You will be unprepared.

“Sucker Punch” is an epic action fantasy that takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, and her incredible adventures blur the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary.

She has been locked away against her will, but Babydoll (Emily Browning) has not lost her will to survive. Determined to fight for her freedom, she urges four other young girls—the reluctant Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish), the outspoken Rocket (Jena Malone), the street-smart Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens) and the fiercely loyal Amber (Jamie Chung)—to band together and try to escape a terrible fate at the hands of their captors, Blue (Oscar Isaac) and Madam Gorski (Carla Gugino), before the mysterious High Roller (Jon Hamm) comes for Babydoll.

Led by Babydoll, the girls engage in fantastical warfare against everything from samurais to serpents, with a virtual arsenal at their disposal. Together, they must decide what they are willing to sacrifice in order to stay alive. But with the help of a Wise Man (Scott Glenn), their unbelievable journey—if they succeed—will set them free.

Born from the creative vision of filmmaker Zack Snyder (“Watchmen,” “300″), “Sucker Punch” features an ensemble cast of young stars, including Emily Browning (“The Uninvited”), Abbie Cornish (“Bright Star”), Jena Malone (“Into the Wild”), Vanessa Hudgens (the “High School Musical” films) and Jamie Chung (“Sorority Row”). The film’s main cast also includes Carla Gugino (“Watchmen”) and Oscar Isaac (“Robin Hood”), with Jon Hamm (“The Town,” TV’s “Mad Men”) and Scott Glenn (“The Bourne Ultimatum”).

Zack Snyder directed “Sucker Punch” from a screenplay he wrote with Steve Shibuya, based on Snyder’s story. Snyder and Deborah Snyder produced, with Thomas Tull, Wesley Coller, Jon Jashni, Chris deFaria, Jim Rowe and William Fay serving as executive producers.

The behind-the-scenes creative team includes Academy Award®-winning production designer Rick Carter (“Avatar”) and “Watchmen” and “300″ veterans director of photography Larry Fong, editor William Hoy and costume designer Michael Wilkinson. The music is by Tyler Bates and Marius DeVries.

Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with Legendary Pictures, a Cruel and Unusual Production, a Zack Snyder film, “Sucker Punch.” Opening nationwide in theaters and IMAX on March 25, 2011, the film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

  1. OMG this looks sooo fucckin stupid. i was kinda excited for it. but after seeing this I laughed so hard when they were shooting at the dragon. wow zack good luck with super man

  2. I saw this movie yesterday. It’s HORRIBLE. It has the plot and structure of a video game and is directed like the world’s most over-the-top music video; and yet is strangely all extremely boring. Seriously avoid at ALL costs.

  3. Well, what did you expected? If it was obvious that the movie is going to be Zack making a lot of wild and crazy things happen it.

  4. Thanks to the first three comments, you just convinced me to watch the movie three more times.

Just to see the dragon and wonder what was laughable about it.

To watch a video game and a music video rolled into one movie.

To watch Zack make lots of wild and crazy things happen.

So thanks guys. You bunch are very helpful.

  5. damn must have been expecting something a lot different? not everything is trying to be the godfather

Man rocket was kicking some ass there. I’ll def go even if the only good thing is the hot girls and a bit of action

  6. My expectations were generously low coming into this. I was hoping for, if nothing else, a fun time. Two hours later I was bored out of my mind and pissed at such a waste of resources. This movie is just a big fetish-fantasy for Snyder that’s cheaply cobbled together by elements from at least fifty other movies. The “dragon” sequence looks like a $5 dollar knock off of Lord of the Rings. It may appear to look like some good mindless fun, but it is BOOOOOORING!!! It feels like a 16 year old wrote and directed it. If you guys want to see it; I won’t judge. Just remember I warned you.

    • How does it feel not having a pulse or a brain? You’re so gassed up in your Zack-hate, I’m surprised you made it out alive from The Trenches where your fellow zombie soldiers just got obliterated by the five gals.

I’ve been warned that I’ve been unprepared. Your warning only lets me know it’s a truly fine, great film, which you’re obviously turning a blind eye to. That is, if you have actually seen the movie, since the screenings lately have been only for select press, if I’m not mistaken. And you’re obviously not one of them.

      • Snyder’s an alumni from my college, so students and alumni got a special screening. This would also signify the fact that I would be quite the contrary to a Snyder-hater. I thought he did as good a job as possible with 300 and entertained me with Watchmen. But this movie just makes him out to be a sleazeball who has no business ever approaching a piece of paper with intent to write a script again. That wouldn’t seem to be a problem for what is obviously a visual, sensual experience; but it fails as that since all the visual action scenes are cheap, uninspired, and dull. Really man, I’m just trying to save you some money here.

    • Basterd, what college did you go to? Are you still in that college? As a student?

I think I want a Zack Snyder themed tour. Go to all the places he went to school to, his workplaces, locations he used for his works, and many others. If I could I’d pick his mind to see what more visions are in there.

    • Basterd, can you at least explain why this movie is bad? You do nothing to back up your claims. I believe you didn’t even watch the movie.

  7. Three people that I talked to who have ACTUALLY SEEN the early screening were blown away by it. Said they were on the edge of their seats through the entire movie.

      • LMAOOOOOOOO

am a snyder fanboy but this looks kinda wack. am stil gonna see it tho illegally bwawawawawa

      • Then you must have bad taste in movies. Sucker Punch is literally the greatest movie me and my friends have ever seen. I saw it twice and am hoping to go see it for a third time. But if you don’t like it, then you don’t like it. If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. Just say it wasn’t all that great, not all that negative crap you’re loading off onto people. Get over yourself man.

  8. @Strong Enough

If you must, you must. You’re doing it the smart way, brother. If I had payed to see this movie, I would’ve been really pissed.

  9. I’ve been excited for this for a while and DamnBASTERD, everyone is allotted their own opinion, which I’ll reserve until I’ve seen the film. You seem pretty intent on preventing everyone else from seeing it though. You mentioned Snyder’s an alum at your school, so what did he do, steal you’re girlfriend or something. I think you’ve done enough trolling for now, Master Sheen will be pleased.

March 25th can’t come soon enough!

    • I’m not hear to troll, man; just giving y’all fair warning. Take it or leave it, you’ve been warned.

      • Unlike the others here, I’m taking and accepting what you’ve said. Very little of what I’ve seen in the trailers or the clips impresses me. In fact, sometimes the scenes downright disappoint me.

I don’t mind the occasional eye-candy movie, but from past experience, I’ve learned there’s only so much one can take. It’s OK to get a short movie based on eye candy, or a music video — and thankfully, those are mercifully short, and for good reason.

Yes, some people love mindless action full of ADD-driven quick edits and ignore the basic elements of filmmaking, but I’m not one of them.

I don’t subscribe to the similarly mindless lot who cry “hater!” whenever someone else doesn’t LOVE the movies they do.

I liked Watchmen, but I found 300 to be shallow eye-candy. This movie, Sucker Punch, looks like a bigger, louder, dumber 300 with women in the lead roles instead, dressed for fanboys who just hit puberty.

Even “dumb” movies need — at least — passable acting. The acting here looks downright awful, laughably bad and not in a good way, enough to snap me out of whatever fantasy he’s presenting.

This might be good as a short movie, but a feature-length one? Spare me the headache.

  10. I was holpful about the movie, But after this its kind get “Sucks punch” – I Hope I am wrong , Lets see this Friday here in Brazil.

  12. People Whine That Hollywood Makes No Original Movies Any More! Well, Zack Snyder Has Created An Original, Visualy Stunning Wonder!! “You Will Be Umprepared” A Great Tagline. It’s Like A Live Action Anime!! While Weak On Story, Big On Action!!
