Warner Bros.’ PG-13 rated Suicide Squad adaptation is less than two months away from opening, but as a reminder that the film is still on the way, the marketing team has released two new TV spots assembling a team of the worst of the worst that DC Comics has to offer. Writer-director David Ayer and his talented cast aims to make this anti-hero outing the best of the best in a year flush with super-powered cinema.
Though we don’t get a whole lot of new looks in these ads, they’re still fun little assemblages that clue us into the tone of the overall film. Expect a lot of camaraderie (and probable sexual tension) among the gathered villains, plenty of mind-blowing action, and humor to go along with the hard knocks. Oh, and there will most definitely be some more Batman in your life when Suicide Squad opens later this summer.
Starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, Cara Delvingne, Adam Beach, and Karen Fukuhara, Suicide Squad opens in theaters in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on August 5th.
