New York Toy Fair 2016 launches the weekend of February 13th, and with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad hitting theaters soon, you can bet DC is going to have a big presence this year. In advance of the event, DC Collectibles has unveiled an early peek at their set of Suicide Squad figurines.

Now, if you're into speculating about films based on their merchandise, which is honestly not always a super good idea (just look at The Force Awakens' #WheresRey debacle), it might be worth noting the characters Warner Bros. and DC have opted to include in their central lineup: Jai Courtney's Boomerang, Karen Fukuhara's Katana, Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje's Killer Croc, Will Smith's Deadshot, Margot Robbie's Harley Quin, and, of course, Jared Leto's Joker. Which leaves Joel Kinnaman's Rick Flag, Jay Hernandez's Diablo, Adam Beach's Slipknot, and Cara Delevingne's Enchantress out.

Some of these aren't too surprising -- Enchantress is looking to be the big antagonist of the film, for example, but if you're into speculation, it does open up some room to postulate who might not feature too prominently in the film. Or, as toys often do, it might reflect nothing more than carefully considered market research. Tragically, the lineup does not reveal a Viola Davis statue, because I would buy those fierce little figurines right out of stock.
