With Suicide Squad only weeks away from the start of production, director David Ayer (Fury, End of Watch) took to twitter today to release the first image of assembled cast. The photo comes from a script readthrough, and offers fans the first look at the star-studded cast. There's not a lot to get from this picture since nobody's in costume or on set, but everyone looks appropriately excited to be there.

Suicide Squad stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. The character fans are most intrigued to see is Jared Leto's take on The Joker, and while Leto was absent for the readthrough (he's currently on tour), the actor has teased his transformation into the character over social media numerous times in the past few weeks. The photo also reveals two new cast additions: Adam Beach and Ike Barinholtz. Check out the first cast image below.

Update: El Mayimbe is reporting that Joe Manganiello is out as Deathstroke, with Jim Parrack (pictured above) now filling the role. According to Mayimbe, Ike Barinholtz is playing Dr. Hugo Strange and  Adam Beach may be Ravan.

Suicide Squad is set to arrive in theaters on August 5, 2016. For more recent news on the film, check out the following links.
