The release of Warner Bros.’ Suicide Squad is now less than one month away, and anticipation is certainly high for writer/director David Ayer’s DC Comics adaptation. Following in the footsteps of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Man of Steel, the film offers a unique point of view of the DC Extended Universe as it tells a complete story from the villain perspective. You see, some of the worst of the worst are being held prisoner at Belle Reve, a facility that officially does not exist. But when a threat arises that necessitates people with extraordinary abilities and somewhat of an expendable quality, Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller assembles a villain supergroup to enact highly dangerous missions, albeit under the control of devices installed in their head that’ll go “boom” if they step out of line.
The so-called Suicide Squad is headed up by Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flagg, who is something of Amanda Waller’s right hand man, and the team includes Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Katana (Karen Fukuhara), Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), and Slipknot (Adam Beach). Twists and turns arise as Jared Leto’s Joker throws a wrench into the Squad’s plans, but we follow along as this band of misfits turns the tables and tries out being the heroes for once.
I personally got to visit the Toronto set of Suicide Squad last summer along with a small group of reporters, where I got a closer look at Ayer’s very specific and unique vision being brought to life. But in concert with the release of my full reportage we’d also like to share a large collection of high-resolution Suicide Squad images. Some of these you’ve seen before, some you haven’t, but they’re now all together in one place in glorious hi-res, so go on a take a gander after perusing the links to all of my set visit coverage. Suicide Squad opens in theaters on August 5th.

Here's the official synopsis for Suicide Squad:
Suicide Squad follows the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and takes place in a post-Superman world where the government tries to determine how to respond in the event that an alien with more villainous intentions visits Earth. Ruthless intelligence officer Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) offers to recruit society’s worst criminals, those possessing lethal skills and superhuman powers. Her first target: the possessed archaeologist June Moone/Enchantress (Cara Delevingne). When Midway City is threatened by a powerful mystical enemy, Waller’s plan gets the go-ahead. She cuts deals with the whole squad of prisoners: Deadshot (Will Smith) gets his Second Amendment rights reinstated, Harley (Margot Robbie) is set free from her cage, Diablo (Jay Hernandez) steps out of his fireproof prison, Boomerang (Jai Courtney) and Slipknot (Adam Beach) each get to wield their signature weapons once more, and Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) emerges from the swamp. The only condition is this: Obey orders or die. This is strictly enforced by squad leader Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), the samurai Katana (Karen Fukuhara), and of course the explosive devices – developed by Wayne Enterprises – inserted into their necks. However, the arrival of the tatted-up Gotham City mega-criminal, the Joker (Jared Leto), might doom the mission thanks to his plan to reunite with his true love, Harley.
