The superb first full trailer for J.J. Abrams’ Super 8 hit the web early today, and now a new poster has been unveiled. Written and directed by Abrams, the film centers on a group of youngsters in a small Ohio town in 1979 who, while using a Super 8 camera to make their own zombie movie, catch a glimpse of a mysterious, inhuman something emerging from the wreckage of a train derailment. The poster expertly conveys the tone portrayed in the trailers. With Steven Spielberg as a producer, it's no surprise that this is shaping up to be a sort of throwback to his sci-fi films of the 80's (E.T., Close Encounters of the Third Kind). It's safe to say I'm decidedly ecstatic to see this film.Super 8 stars Elle Fanning, Kyle Chandler, Zach Mills, Noah Emmerich, Ron Eldard, and Amanda Michalka.
