A new Japanese poster for Super 8 hit the internet tonight, and based on a quick survey of the movie blogs, people seem to love the vintage Steven Spielberg aesthetic.  The movie depicted in the poster truly does look like it's influenced by the man who directed E.T. and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which was J.J. Abrams' stated goal from the outset. To be honest, I'm partial to the new international poster for Zookeeper, which taps into the primal pleasure of watching Kevin James and a gorilla ride a roller coaster together. Check out both after the jump.

Super 8

Elle Fanning, Kyle Chandler, Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich, Gabriel Basso, Joel Courtney, Ryan Lee, Zach Mills, and Amanda Michalka star in Super 8, scheduled for release on June 10.  Via First Showing:

In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.

Zookeeper

Leslie Bibb and Rosario Dawson also star in Zookeeper; Cher, Nick Nolte, Adam Sandler, and Sylvester Stallone voice the animals who advise James in the ways of love.  A new trailer debuted yesterday, and look -- talking animals!  Zookeeper opens July 8.  Via IMP Awards:

The animals at the Franklin Park Zoo love their kindhearted caretaker, Griffin Keyes. Finding himself more comfortable with a lion than a lady, Griffin decides the only way to get a girl in his life is to leave the zoo and find a more glamorous job. The animals, in a panic, decide to break their time-honored code of silence and reveal their biggest secret: they can talk! To keep Griffin from leaving, they decide to teach him the rules of courtship – animal style.
