First Clip from James Gunn’s SUPER

The first clip from writer/director James Gunn’s (Slither) superhero parody flick Super is now available online following its world premiere during last night’s 2010 Scream Awards.  Running at almost two minutes, the footage is the same that Gunn and co. debuted at Comic-Con over the summer and is a reminder to all of us that there is, in fact, “no butting in line.”

Super was picked up by IFC Films at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, so we will hopefully be seeing it in theaters sooner rather than later.  To check out Steve’s video review of the film from TIFF, click here.  To see the clip as well as a synopsis, hit the jump.  Super stars Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler, Kevin Bacon, and Nathan Fillion.

Here’s the clip [via The Playlist]:

Here’s the plot synopsis for Super:

Frank (Rainn Wilson) is an average guy who transforms himself into superhero The Crimson Bolt after his wife Sarah (Liv Tyler) hooks up with a smooth-talking drug dealer, Jacques (Kevin Bacon). What Frank lacks in superpowers, he makes up for with a trusty wrench in his one-man war on crime. But every superhero needs a sidekick. Enter Libby (Ellen Page), a cute psychopath working at the local comic book store. Transforming into “Boltie”, Libby teams up with Frank to take Jacques down. From the surprising imagination of writer-director James Gunn (Slither) comes Bolt and Boltie, a crazed crime fighting duo for the XBox generation. They’re here to save the day, or at least to beat you up.

Wow , i hope that was just a dream sequence otherwise im very concerned with the tone of this movie , i had very high hopes for this , the cast is way too awesome.

lol, what is wrong with him bashing a guys skull in? I thought it was hilarious, the retribution sequence was WAY more drastic than the crime itself. Hence, parody.

I agree it was funny, but it wasn’t realistic. Otherwise he’d be arrested right away and there’d be no movie. Parody aside if its somewhat similar to Kickass then maybe it will be fine a little over the top while still keeping some realism, if its set in the real world with real consequences.
