‘Gambit’: Simon Kinberg Calls it a “Heist Movie” and “Sexy Thriller”

The upcoming Gambit may be running a little more behind than it was originally intended but that doesn’t mean the film isn’t pushing forward, especially if you ask producer Simon Kinberg, who recently gave hints at the tone of the movie. Speaking to Steve, Kinberg shared that while in the superhero genre, Gambit will have its own unique tone and will be “more of like a heist movie and a sexy thriller in a way.”

‘Legion’ TV Series Will Be the “’Breaking Bad’ of Superhero Stories”

By now you probably know that, like other studios before them, 20th Century Fox is looking to expand their superhero genre to the small screen with the upcoming Legion and Hellfire, and again producer Simon Kinberg had flattering words to share, about Legion particularly. In the same talk with Steve, Kinberg discussed that with Legion they are trying to do “something completely original in the genre”, and went on to say that it will be the “Breaking Bad of superhero stories.”

‘Justice League Dark’ Searching for Potential Cast and Directors

It might be disappointing that we won’t see Guillermo del Toro directing Justice League Dark but we can still be happy that WB is still very much planning to have this film made, and now recently a list of potential cast and directors has been revealed. According to reports, WB is looking at duo Aharon Keshales & Navot Papushado (Big Bad Wolves) and Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead) as potential directors. As far as casting, the candidates are Colin Farrell for John Constantine, Ron Perlman for Swamp Thing, Ben Mendelsohn for Anton Arcane, Ewan McGregor for Jason Blood/The Demon, and Monica Bellucci for Madame Xanadu. For Deadman they want a comedic actor, and an unknown for magician Zatanna.

The trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse won’t debut until the premier of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but we can continue to thank director Bryan Singer for giving us little peeks from the film on social media. The latest revelation from Singer was an image of the first teaser trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse featuring James McAvoy as Professor X donning the Cerebro helmet.

‘Iron Fist’ Still Moving Forward

With Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage taking up all the news, fans have been wondering about Marvel’s other Netflix series Iron Fist and if it is still moving ahead at all, and if you’re one of those fans, Marvel Television chief Jeph Loeb is here to tell you that you do not need to worry. During an interview, Loeb revealed that Iron Fist is very much still in the works and that we can expect announcements sometime soon, “The short answer is, ‘Yes, there’ll be news.”

‘Wonder Woman’ First Official Image

Wonder Woman is shaping up to be a highly anticipated superhero property with it being the first modern female superhero film, and we now have a new look at what we’ll see from Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in Patty Jenkins’ upcoming film. The first official image features Gadot in her Wonder Woman armor in what appears to be London in the background.

The image reveal also brought new casting announcements, with the additions of Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya, and Lucy Davis to the cast.
