Many fans are excited about the upcoming Doctor Strange movie, and after seeing the recent set photos that excitement grew, but now it’s taken to another level with the release of the first trailer and poster for Scott Derrickson’s entry into the MCU. The poster was revealed ahead of the trailer, and serves as a nice tease and for tickling curiosity. The fist trailer was fantastic, laying down the foundation of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch)’s origin story and giving us trippy looks at how this films will apparently bend our minds visually.

The clips include the new Avengers in action, Ant-Man meeting Captain America, and two more clips featuring debating and punching. The new images come from EW in the form of magazine covers and photos of more looks from the film.

Think what you will of the state of the DCEU, Suicide Squad is looking to be a game-changer for the universe and fans are still highly anticipating the David Ayer film, and how could you not when you get material like the newest trailer? The new Blitz trailer continues to hit on the comedic exchanges between the characters and teasing the big action that’s in store, quite simply the trailer is fun, and hopefully that’s what we’ll get from the movie. I also have to mention Joker and Batman, whose nice appearances don’t seem to take the spotlight away from the main cast.

Additionally, Collider's own Steve Weintraub caught up with Ayer at CinemaCon, who addressed those reshoots head on, as well as Will Smith who revealed how Ayer convinced him to sign onto the project, Jai Courtney and Joel Kinnaman, who kept things light in a very funny conversation, and Jay Hernandez and Adam Beach who discussed their supervillain roles.

First up in casting news is that Michael Keaton has reportedly entered early stages of negotiations to play the main villain in the film, and while the role hasn’t been disclosed, it is rumored that the villain in the film could be Vulture. Also according to reports, actors Tony Revolori and Laura Harrier have been added to the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Harrier in an unspecified but “significant” role and Revelori as Peter Parker (Tom Holland)’s friend Manuel.

Confirmation came from WB chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara, revealing that there are 10 DC movies planned for the next five years and that they are “excited to be working with Ben Affleck on a standalone Batman film.” There wasn’t any confirmation on whether Affleck would be directing, or on the status of the script he has been developing with DC Comics CCO Geoff Johns.

What’s even more exciting from this announcement is that the creative team behind Deadpool will remain intact, meaning we will see Ryan Reynolds back as the Merc with a Mouth, Tim Miller returning at the helm, and Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick back penning the script. So, great news all-around.
