2016 is coming up, and it will bring a battle between the two biggest superhero characters ever. The latest piece of news from Batman v Superman sees the film getting a PG-13 rating from the MPAA –as WB wanted and most of us expected– for containing “intense sequences of violence and action throughout, and some sensuality.” What catches attention is the “some sensuality” part, which tells us the film will have a little more than just fighting.

Those who saw Avengers: Age of Ultron know that its conclusion left us with an Avengers team that was quite different than the original one we were used to, and apparently Avengers: Infinity War will bring the end to the team as we know it. During a Q&A, Marvel Studios executive Jeremy Latcham shared the eventual fate of the team, saying that Avengers: Infinity War “definitely is an end to some version of the team that we’ve come to know as The Avengers”.

The deal between Sony and Marvel Studios to bring Spider-Man to the MCU took many by surprise, but it also got people thinking about the possibility of this scenario happening with other characters or maybe getting back the rights other characters. It seems that those questions also flow around Marvel Studios, since it was revealed that they have contingency plans for such cases. During a Q&A while discussing the Spider-Man deal, Kevin Feige said the following:

“This has been a dream of ours for a long time, and we always had contingency plans should you know—which we always do anyways. Are we going to be able to make another movie with this actor? If we are then we’ll do this, if not, we’re going to do this. If we get the rights to a certain character that’d be great, then we’d do this, if not, we’d do this. So we always sort of operate with those alternate timelines available and are ready to shift if something happens.”

During an interview, Miller confirmed that meetings with Warner Bros. for him to direct a DC movie did occur, but that the chances of him doing it are small. The director shared that his hopes are that his next film is “a very small film without any special effects and not many stunts.”
