Hopefully this isn’t too big of a spoiler for you, but Superman isn’t dead. Even if you haven’t yet seen Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Henry Cavill has been posting on-set and workout pics from Justice League on Instagram, and the Warner Bros. panel at Comic-Con revealed the Man of Steel joining the rest of DC’s core pantheon. But, it looks like Superman will be getting a major costume change when he rises from the grave.

Cavill sported darker shades of Supe’s classic red-and-blue suit in previous films, but based on the actor’s recent Instagram post, he’s going all black for Justice League. While the image is only a close-up, you can see the edge of his signature family crest on the chest plate. Rumors already began to swirl a while back over this new look, and now it seems confirmed.

Superman sported his black suit in the comic book arc The Death of Superman. After getting offed by Doomsday (or so it would seem), the Kryptonian strongman rose once again wearing this classic look. An alternate version of Superman, one that’s not a symbol of hope called Superman Prime, wore a black get-up, as well. Given the trajectory of the DC Extended Universe — Batman v Superman already saw Kal-el sacrifice himself to stop Doomsday — you can bet on the former scenario.

Justice League, directed by Zack Snyder, will see Batman (Ben Affleck) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) assembling their superhero team to take on Darkseid’s agent Steppenwolf, as teased in that deleted scene from Batman v Superman released online. Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) are recruited as Mother Boxes are revealed around the world.

The film will follow Patty Jenkin’s Wonder Woman with a release date on November 17, 2017.
