Pierce Brosnan is on a bit of an action kick as of late (possibly inspired by Liam Neeson?), and that continues in the first trailer for the thriller Survivor. Directed by James McTeigue (V for Vendetta), the film stars Milla Jovovich as a Foreign Service Officer who, after being mysteriously framed for a terrorist bombing, finds herself the target of a ruthless assassin, played be Pierce Brosnan.
The movie looks like it could be a fair amount of fun, and it certainly has an impressive ensemble bolstered by Dylan McDermott, Angela Bassett, Robert Forster, and James D’Arcy. Brosnan’s already proved that he can handle action well, and with the recent release The November Man as well as the upcoming No Escape and the nutty-looking Urge, it’s clear he’s keen to play in all different types of genres while taking advantage of the popularity of the “older actor kicks ass” trend. Survivor gives the actor the opportunity to play the baddie for once, and here’s hoping he has a bit of fun with the role while he’s at it.
