We’ve got quite a few casting stories for you today. First up, Susan Sarandon has joined the cast of the Adam Sandler/Andy Samberg comedy I Hate You Dad. The comedy revolves around a father who moves in with his son and his son’s fiancé just before they’re about to get married, with Leighton Meester set to play Samberg’s fiancée. THR reports that in addition to Sarandon, Will Forte, Milo Ventimiglia, Eva Amurri (Californication), Blake Clark, Meagan Fay (Party Down), Tony Orlando, Dan Patrick and previously announced James Caan are all in negotiations to join the Sean Anders-directed comedy. Sarandon will play a sexy teacher who is the mother of Samberg’s character.

Additionally, Jennifer Hudson is the latest actor to join the cast of the Farrelly brothers’ The Three Stooges. The film stars Will Sasso as Curly, Sean Hayes as Larry, Chris Diamantopoulos as Moe, Jane Lynch, Larry David, Stephen Collins and Craig Bierko. Deadline reports that Hudson will play Sister Rosmary at the orphanage that the Stooges are raised. Lynch and David play two other (presumably evil) nuns at the orphanage. The Three Stooges is currently filming. Hit the jump for the casting news of Johnny Knoxville and a lot more in Fun Size and Seth Green, Michelle Trachtenberg, Katee Sackhoff, Harold Perrineau and Billy Baldwin in Sexy Evil Genius.

Marking the feature directorial debut of Josh Schwartz (The O.C.), the film tells the story of a teenage girl who loses her younger brother trick-or-treating on Halloween. She must then team up with her friends to find him before the night ends. In addition to Knoxville and the previously announced Victoria Justice, Thomas Mann and Jane Levy, Bloody Disgusting reports that Thomas Middleditch (Funny or Die Presents…), Thomas McDonell (Prom), Osric Chau (2012), Jackson Nicoll (The Fighter), Ana Gasteyer, Josh Pence, Holmes Osborne, James Pumphrey, Willam Belli and Peter Navy Tuiasosopo are all poised to star. Filming on Fun Size begins this June in Ohio.

Finally, a number of actors round out the cast of Sexy Evil Genius. Seth Green, Michelle Trachtenberg, Billy Baldwin, and Harold Perrineau join Katee Sackhoff in the film, which marks the directorial debut of Shawn Piller. The official synopsis for the dark comedy is as follows:

SEXY EVIL GENIUS is a dark comedy about an eclectic group of strangers invited to a downtown Los Angeles bar by a mutual ex-lover, Nikki Franklyn (Sackhoff), a maddeningly sexy, unpredictable and possibly insane young woman who’s recently gotten out of prison for murdering her last ex-boyfriend. The party really gets started when Nikki herself arrives, hauling her latest lover and fiancée, the morally-challenged lawyer who’s been handling her case. She’s mysterious about her intentions and her current and former lovers soon realize they are all caught in one of her brilliant, mischievous mind-games with possible deadly consequences.

The script was actually written by Scott Lew, a screenwriter diagnosed with ALS whose only form of communication is through writing. Almost fully paralyzed, he used a motion controlled keyboard screen to write the script, using slight motions with his head.

SOBINI FILMS ROUNDS OUT CAST ON ‘SEXY EVIL GENIUS’

Principal Photography Commences this Week on Dark Comedy
Starring Katee Sackhoff, Seth Green, Michelle Trachtenberg,
Billy Baldwin, and Harold Perrineau Jr.

Los Angeles, CA (June 1, 2011)— Seth Green, Michelle Trachtenberg, Billy Baldwin, and Harold Perrineau Jr. have joined Katee Sackhoff to round out the cast for Sobini Films’ dark comedy SEXY EVIL GENIUS.  Shawn Piller is making his feature directorial debut on the project which was written by Scott Lew, a scribe diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) and who can only communicate via the written word.

Lloyd Segan of Piller/Segan/Shepherd and David W. Higgins (HARD CANDY) of Launchpad Productions are producing along with Sobini Films’ Mark Amin. Cami Winikoff of Sobini and Scott Shepherd are executive producers. Sackhoff, Todd Ulman, and Nellie Nugiel are co-producers.

Piller is a veteran of episodic television and has directed and served as executive producer on shows DEAD ZONE, HAVEN, WILDFIRE, and GREEK.

Amin commented, “I have been looking for a script that was original, had great characters, a seasoned director with a vision, and a compelling story. When SEXY EVIL GENIUS attracted such a great cast, I knew we had found our film.”

Lew is stricken with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease.) He is almost fully paralyzed and writes by moving his head in slight motions that connect to a digital keyboard screen. He literally wrote the script one letter, one word at a time. Lew wrote and directed the film BICKFORD SCHMEKLER’S COOL IDEAS in the early years of his diagnosis, but has been solely focused on writing as his condition has worsened. At this point in his life, he is only able to communicate via his email and digital keyboard.

Mark Amin’s Sobini Films productions include THE PRINCE & ME, PEACEFUL WARRIOR, based on the best-selling motivational book; and CHRISSA STANDS STRONG, created as a companion piece to the best-selling line of American Girl dolls. Amin¹s past credits include the critically acclaimed EVE’S BAYOU starring Samuel Jackson and FRIDA, distributed by Miramax Films, which garnered six Academy Award nominations.
