After picking up the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film for In a Better World, director Susanne Bier is moving on to somewhat lighter fare. Variety reports that Bier will direct All You Need Is Love, which is set in Italy’s Amalfi coast. Like Bier’s previous films, it will center on a Danish family, but with a “comic tone.” Bier told the Italian newspaper La Repubblica that “It’s a tender story with a much lighter atmosphere than my previous works: enough with conflicts.”
Last week we reported that Bier was set to remake the French thriller Rapt. Variety reports that All You Need Is Love is planning to shoot in May, so presumably Rapt will follow.
