Early news out of TCA has a handful of series pilots on deck at SyFy.  So far, a 90-minute pilot has been greenlit for Dominion, a series based on the characters and story of Scott Stewart’s 2010 film, Legion.  The project has been in the works for over a year from co-writers Stewart and Vaun Wilmott (Sons Of Anarchy).  Stewart will direct the pilot of the series, which is pitched as “an epic supernatural action drama set 25 years in the future after a war between an army of angels and mankind has transformed the world. It follows the perilous journey of a rebellious young soldier who discovers he’s the unlikely savior of humanity.”

Hit the jump for more possible pilots and series for SyFy, including two space-based adventures and a project from M. Night Shyamalan.

12-monkeys-movie-posterDeadline reported on the go-ahead for Dominion’s pilot, as well as a number of other possible pilot and straight-to-series orders.  Top-most after Dominion is a series adaptation of Terry Gilliam’s 1995 sci-fi thriller, Twelve Monkeys.  Few details are available at the time, but the series comes from writers Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett, and director Jon Cassar.

Other projects include: Clandestine, “a swashbuckling space drama/adventure revolving around mercenaries who masquerade as part of an intergalactic fleet” from actor-writer Todd Stashwick and artist Dennis CaleroProof, from Marti Noxon and M. Night Shyamalan, “about the son of a billionaire tech genius who offers a large reward for anyone who can find proof of life after death”; and Sojourn, about a space detective tasked with investigating a murder on a starship, from Phil Levens, Jason Blum and Lionsgate.
