While a sequel to Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables has been in the works for a while, there’ve been quite a few rumors surrounding the project. Last month, it was reported that although Stallone would be returning in The Expendables 2 as an actor, he would not be directing the flick this time around. He also passed over scripting duties to Ken Kaufman (Space Cowboys) and David Agosto. Well, now it’s being reported that Stallone may in fact direct the follow-up after all.
The website Expendables Premiere (via Screen Rant) is reporting that Lionsgate and Maple Pictures have revealed that Stallone will be returning to the director’s chair for the film. However, this information has yet to be confirmed and we haven’t heard anything from Lionsgate or Maple Pictures at this time, so this could very well be one more rumor about the project. Hopefully we’ll know more soon. No details are known about the sequel, but Stallone previously stated his intention to have Bruce Willis play a “super-villain” in the film. However, uncertainty hasn’t kept the project from having a release date: The Expendables 2 is set to hit theaters on August 17th 2012.

The Expendables was one of the best films of 2010. It was f*****g epic.
The fights between Jet Li/Dolph Lundgren, Sylvester Stallone/Steve Austin, Randy Couture/Steve Austin as well as Jason Statham/Jet Li/Gary Daniels knocked everyone on their ass and were so amazing and action-packed, audiences all over the world were left breathless.
I hope in the sequel, there will be more amazing fight scenes. It would be good to include Wesley Snipes in the sequel to fight Jason Statham and they can finally give us the fight that they unfairly denied us in Chaos (2005).
The Expendables should have more good actors, i would love to see Van Damme and/or Steven Seagal together as they are both great actors
It would be good if the sequel is based on current affairs and the Expendables battle a real world threat such as Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, Iranian extremists, North Korean extremists, Somali pirates once more, Colonel Muammar Gaddafi’s forces, etc.
Well, hope this sequel is better than the first. Was not up to par with the latest RAMBO like I’d hoped. Still, room for improvement.
And..
ARNIE could re team in a bigger role????
It would be amazing if Sly & Arnie teamed up on screen together as a buddy/type movie.
Preferably with the action and gore of Rambo-4,
For fun, I want to see Rambo + Commando fighting together in one movie.

Dude, The Expendables deserves to stay in Stallones vision. The man knows action, and the man knows what guys like to see. Sly is way more smart than people give him credit for. The dude is really intellegent, and at 64, his phisique puts people in their 20′s to shame. Go Stallone, never quit!
The best would be if Sly’s team took on Schwarzeneggers team. Have Sly’s group of Mercs taking on Schwarzeneggers Mercs. This would give the opportunity for a top ten of action stars if you will. I want Bruce to hire Schwarzeneggers team to take out Sly’s team. To see a battle between Sly and Arny would be unimaginably amazing. Bruce would hire them to take out Sly’s crew because they know too much about what happened in the first one. Need to clear up some lose ends. Sly and crew takes out Schwarzeneggers team, and disapear. Would be an awesome story arc.
I hope the stop doing the asian/ jet Li jokes, considering he can whip all their asses with one arm and one leg
I would like to see Arnold’s team of Mercs battle Sly’s team. Both hired to take out Willis and his team of super-villains. Epic?
I would love to see Stallone reprise Charles Bronson’s role in a remake of the late 70′s classic HARD TIMES. Who’s with me???
Also, I’d like to ask Ivan why he’s so impressed with Jet Li? His credentials as an actor are suspect, much less as a fighter. Who has he fought Ivan? Answer? NO ONE. He’s a kung fu kata guy who knows as much about real fighting as the bare foot contessa. Any of those well muscled guys in that movie could beat the snot out of little Li. I won’t even bother to mention Randy Coture. That would just be silly.
Ideally I want to see Team Sly vs. Team Bruce.
Terry Crews and Randy Couture get taken out, Schwarzenegger replaces them. Then it’s 90 minutes of straight Black Hawk Down warfare.
It’s Stallone, Statham, Li, Lundgren and Schwarzenegger vs. Willis, Van Damme, Austin and rounded out by the likes of Adkins and Jai White.
IRT Jet Li, Gary Daniels, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture could legitimately take him.
I hope Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson are bad guys. Or atleast have them not play as fags. Faster was a good movie because of how ruthless Dwayne was. Vin Diesel needs to stop smiling out the side of his mouth like a morron
