If you're a fan of Rocky and mafia crime (and really, who isn't?), then this trip around the rumor mill is just for you. TMZ is reporting that Sylvester Stallone and “Junior” John Gotti are in serious talks to make a movie about his late father, mobster John Gotti. According to the report, the story would revolve around John's memories of his dysfunctional relationship with his father – with Stallone set to play the criminal icon.

In terms of its current status, the project seems to be a real possibility as TMZ claims that Stallone is ready to pick a screenwriter. Of course, we'll keep you up to date on the Stallone/Gotti mash-up status as more news becomes available. In the meantime, let's hope it keeps Sly busy enough that he doesn't consider making another Rocky and/or Rambo out of sheer boredom.  Stallone will next be seen in The Expendables, which hits theaters on August 13th.
